Roblox Version 710: What Changed (Explained Simply)

Roblox has released Version 710. Like the last updates, this one is mostly technical and creator-focused, but it still matters for players because stability and tool improvements affect game quality over time.

What is new in Version 710?

In simple terms, Release 710 brings:

New EditableImage capabilities for advanced image editing workflows
More options for normal maps in rendering (Object and Tangent spaces)
Cleanup of older/deprecated properties in materials and tools
A platform default change for model streaming behavior (Improved)
Multiple bug fixes in Studio/UI rendering, properties syncing, and backend diagnostics

Key changes for creators and developers (simple summary)

Image tooling got stronger: Roblox added AssetsService:CreateEditableImageFromBuffer(), EditableImage:ReadPixelsBuffer(), a new EditableImage.PaddingMode property, and EditableImagePromptResult.
Rendering workflows improved: NormalMapSpace now includes Object and Tangent options.
Some old properties were removed: MaterialVariant.StudsPerTileU/V and Tool.PunchThroughDistance were removed.
Streaming default was updated: ModelStreamingBehavior now defaults to Improved.
Important fixes landed:
- Input selection/sorting behavior was corrected for InteractableSortingOrder.
- Luau type-solver behavior was refined (including intersection type handling with APIs).
- Texture/color offset and scale changes done in Asset Manager now correctly show in properties.
- A blurry-text issue with TextLabel + StyledProperties + non-integer text size was fixed.
- DataModel:GetMessageId() now returns the server message ID from Task Scheduler when no error occurs.

What normal players may notice

Most players will not see a dramatic UI feature right away, but over time they may notice:

Fewer odd visual/text rendering issues in some experiences
More stable behavior in creator-built systems
Gradual quality improvements as developers adopt new tooling

What this means for parents

For families, this is mostly a background update:

Roblox should feel familiar day to day.
Most changes are for developers and Studio workflows.
Benefits usually appear gradually as games are updated.

What this means for kids and teens

If you play Roblox, the short version is:

Your favorite games should still work as usual.
Some games may become smoother or have fewer weird bugs.
Not every update adds a visible new player feature.

Rollout status (important)

In the tracked 710 entries, many items are still listed as Pending, while some fixes are marked Live. So changes can arrive in stages.

Bottom line

Release 710 is another mostly technical Roblox update focused on creator tools, rendering/image workflows, and platform fixes. It is useful and practical, even if it is not a big player-facing feature drop.
