Roblox Version 735: Changelog Explained in Plain English

Roblox published the official notes for Version 735 on the Creator Hub on August 20, 2026. This is a technical maintenance update. It does not add a major new game or player feature, but it improves interfaces, controls, animation tools, images, Studio collaboration, scripting, and server-controlled movement.

The release contains 25 official changes: 15 improvements and 10 fixes. Four were marked Live when the notes appeared, while 21 were Pending. Pending means Roblox plans to roll out the change later, so it may not be available on every device or in every experience yet.

What is new in Roblox Version 735?

Version 735 mostly helps creators build more reliable experiences. The changes ordinary players are most likely to notice are:

small rich-text labels should stop disappearing
console text boxes should be less likely to keep keyboard focus stuck
Xbox mouse clicks should work more reliably
Roblox should leave the selected Windows keyboard language unchanged at launch
high-frame-rate movement should produce fewer incorrect corrections in games using Server Authority
non-editable text can be copied on phones without opening the keyboard
interface shadows can use color gradients and new inset effects
Studio gets safer logging, better autocomplete, clearer Luau generic names, and Team Create fixes

There is no new family setting to configure. Most of the release works behind the scenes or becomes visible after a creator updates an experience.

Which Version 735 changes were already live?

Four of the 25 changes were marked Live on August 20.

Animation tools now expose new ways to add, remove, order, and monitor input pins on an AnimationNodeDefinition. In simple terms, creators can manage the connections inside an animation system more precisely.

Roblox fixed auto-scaled rich text that could disappear when a TextLabel became very small. Players may notice this as fewer missing labels in compact menus, nameplates, or status displays.

Studio’s LogService.MessageOut also received a safety fix. Printing another message from its handler in deferred-signal mode should no longer create an endless loop. This is mainly a developer fix, but it prevents one kind of Studio freeze or runaway logging.

The fourth live item is InputSink, a new UI property that tells an interface element to absorb an input. It gives creators a clearer replacement path for the older Active behavior and helps prevent one click, tap, or button press from unintentionally reaching multiple layers.

Menus and text input should behave better

Several changes target interfaces. A child UIGradient can now affect a UIShadow, letting creators make shadows change color instead of using one flat shade. Roblox also lists UIShadow.Inset and ShowBehindParent, which support inner shadows and control whether the hidden part behind a UI object is drawn.

The practical result could be cleaner buttons, panels, health bars, and menus. These are tools rather than an automatic redesign: each experience developer must choose to use them.

On consoles, text boxes could sometimes remain focused when they should not. That can make controls feel stuck because the game still thinks the player is typing. The pending fix should release that focus more reliably.

On mobile devices, a non-editable TextBox can allow copying without opening the native keyboard. Games can use this for invite codes, IDs, links, or other text that players may copy but should not change.

Xbox mouse controls and Windows typing get fixes

Roblox lists improved mouse-click handling on Xbox. The note does not name a particular game, mouse model, or broken action, so players should treat it as a general compatibility fix rather than a promise that every mouse-control problem is solved.

The Windows keyboard-layout fix is more specific. Starting Roblox could switch the system layout to English for players who did not have US QWERTY installed. Version 735 is intended to leave the active input language alone. Chat and search should use the chosen language layout, while movement controls such as WASD still follow the physical key positions.

Both changes were Pending at publication. A player may therefore receive them after the initial 0.735 notes appear.

High-FPS movement should become more consistent

One pending fix concerns experiences using Workspace.AuthorityMode = Server. In these games, the server has stronger control over the final movement result. The player’s device still predicts movement so controls can feel responsive, but the server may correct a wrong prediction.

Clients running above 60 FPS could encounter more of these movement mispredictions. That can look like a small snap, rubber-band effect, or unexpected correction. Version 735 aims to reduce the problem. It only affects experiences using the relevant Server Authority setup, so it is not a universal performance boost.

Roblox also adds PlayerControlState, a new instance type for replicating scripted inputs in Server Authority. This is a creator-facing foundation for making server-controlled movement and custom input systems agree more reliably.

Animation, images, and sound tools expand

The live animation-node APIs let creators change input pins and react when those inputs change. That can make reusable animation systems easier to assemble and inspect.

Two pending EditableImage additions support in-experience image tools. SampleImageProjected reads pixels according to a projection, acting as a counterpart to drawing a projected image. The Subtract blend mode removes source color and transparency from a destination. Together, they can support texture painting, erasers, masks, decals, and creative editors.

Acoustic simulation settings for supported classes and services are being divided into Occlusion and Reverb subcategories. Occlusion models sound blocked by objects; reverb models reflected sound in a space. Creators can control the two effects separately instead of treating advanced acoustics as one switch.

Studio gets smoother coding and collaboration

Script Editor autocomplete will replace a dot with a colon when a method call requires it. For example, starting with a.Find can become a:FindFirstChild(). That small correction saves typing and prevents a common Luau mistake.

Inferred generic types in Luau analysis will be named T, U, V, and so on instead of a, b, c. This does not change how a game runs. It makes technical type messages more familiar and easier for programmers to read.

Another fix restores missing type errors for compound assignments such as +=. Studio should warn creators when that operation combines incompatible types.

Team Create also gets a pending fix for tags on ServerStorage. Those tags could be deleted during collaborative editing. Preserving them prevents game logic that depends on tagged objects from silently breaking.

Collections, sandboxes, and content loading change

Roblox lists a new entry point for CollectionService:CreateCollection(). Collections are an organizational feature for creator workflows. The brief note does not describe a finished player-facing system, so players should not expect a new inventory category in the Roblox app.

Nested sandboxed containers receive a more precise access rule. A script with AccessOutsideWrite can reach instances up to its parent container’s isolation boundary instead of losing every outside write permission because of a more distant ancestor. This gives advanced creators controlled flexibility without removing the sandbox boundary.

Roblox also improves the performance of CreateDataModelContentAsync when called from a DataModelContent mesh. This is a targeted content-loading optimization; Roblox does not provide a percentage or promise faster loading for all experiences.

Smaller fixes for graphics, testing, and PlayerModule

The near clipping plane, often called the Z-near plane, should become more consistent across platforms. It controls how close an object can be to the camera before it is clipped. The fix should reduce cases where very close geometry looks different on one device than another.

Studio bundle-purchase tests receive a correction. PromptBundlePurchase() did not always mark a purchased bundle as owned during testing. This affects developer testing, not a confirmed problem with real Robux purchases.

Experiences that opt into PlayerScriptsUseInputActionSystem can use require("@rbx/PlayerModule"). PlayerModule contains Roblox’s standard player controls and camera behavior. The new import path helps creators work with those systems under the newer input setup.

What does Version 735 mean for parents?

For families, Roblox Version 735 is a maintenance release:

it does not introduce a new chat, spending, privacy, or parental-control feature
only 4 of 25 changes were live when the notes appeared
typing and console controls should become more reliable after pending fixes roll out
the high-FPS movement fix applies only to games using a specific server-controlled system
Studio purchase testing does not describe a new charge or buying feature for children
no account setting needs to change because of this update

Individual games can still have their own bugs and update schedules.

What does Version 735 mean for kids and teens?

You probably will not see a completely different Roblox app. In affected games, text may stop disappearing, console typing may get unstuck, Xbox mouse clicks may work better, and movement may look steadier at high frame rates.

Most of the update gives creators better building blocks. New shadow, animation, image, sound, collection, coding, and input tools may lead to more polished games later. Because 21 changes were still Pending, many improvements will arrive gradually.

Bottom line

Roblox Version 735 contains 25 official changes: 15 improvements and 10 fixes. Four were Live and 21 were Pending when Roblox published the page.

The clearest player-facing changes address disappearing text, stuck console text boxes, Xbox mouse clicks, Windows keyboard layouts, and high-FPS movement corrections. Most other items improve the tools creators use to build animations, interfaces, images, sound, scripts, and collaborative Studio projects.
